My laptop was stolen, and i'm not on an old, and VERY slow laptop. I need a laptop to do my uni work, so I have to use it, but i'm just wondering how to speed it up.
I know Norton is a memory hog and I want to get rid of it ASAP, but I was wondering what free antivirus software people would recommend that doesn't try to control your life and slow it down to a snails pace.
Also, there used to be a thread on here about a website that told you how to cut down the applications that run when starting up your computer, and how to do that. Anyone remember what that is, or anything about it?
Thanks.
