Hello to all,

To anyone who would know....

Is there a way I can from a DVD just record the audio of a song into an MP3 or any other music file? Thus just having the song on my computer and not having to put the dvd in everytime just to listen to a song or two [the dvd is a 2 disc Led Zeppelin DVD for those wondering]

thanks.

  • it can definitely be done. You need some sort of audio extractor to rip mp3's of the music off the DVD. try a google search of dvd audio extractor or something...I can't remember the name of the software I use. I'll find out and le t you know
  • HEY! thanks alot!!

I use Xilisoft Dvd Audio Ripper, the trial is limited to a couple of songs I think, but if you only want a couple of songs then go for it

Although development of it has ceased, I think you can still find for download DVD Decrypter. It is your best bet in my opinion. I have used it for that function many times, it works great. You can rip just the audio tracks off the DVD and then you will need another application to encode to mp3 (the audio may be in ac3 format too). I've used BeSweet for that. The best thing is that both of these applications are free!

Here are a couple of guides (thanks to http://www.doom9.org):

Anyone have other ideas? I'd be interested in hearing others take on this problem too...

I was actually thinking of making a thread about this the other day.

I was wondering if you could hook me up with a link of where you downloaded that?

    Yeah for sure.

I typed in 'dvd audio extractor' in google and I used the top listing. 'DVD Digest - Downloads - DVD Audio Extractor' direct url: http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/showsoftware_dvd_audio_extractor_343.html

Hey, thanks alot, Ill definitely check it out. The program I found actually converts the DVD audio directly into MP3 so thats pretty convenient.

There happeneds to be a wole shit load of sites/programs when searching for 'dvd audio extractor' I clicked the first link on the list and didnt have to look any further. I will tho after the 30day free trial is up..

    but until then..
