hey, I just formatted, and am having problems getting office up again. it is office 2000 (tink I may just upgrade).

it comes up with a 1308 then a 1311 error...I can't recall the exact wording to the faults, but it says that a file can not be found. (I can get all the info if you want)

it happens while loading...after enterring my code. I have loaded this several times when formatting in the past and never had problems...and I did find some literature via google (office error 1308
office error 1311) but it didnt seem to help.

These are the original CDs, but they were in storage for a trhough a summer and a winter...perhaps they are corrupt.

any feedback appreciated.

Sounds like the CD install disc may have some damage. Try cleaning it real good in case it is just dirty or scuffed up.

    yeah, I tried that.

I copied it onto one of my drives...no difference. The disck has been frozen, and hot, so I guess it could be corrupt.

I have always heard CDs can do that, just never known personnally of that happenning. I think I am going try loading a friends just to see. At least then I know if I have a computer end issue or if I should spend the cash upgrading.

    agreed.

to the original poster...you may want to upgrade to Office 2003 in early december...Office 2007 is scheduled to be released on 12.05.06...so 2003 should be cheaper around then.
