Is there a simple way to save video files that stream on the internet?

I speak specifically of youtube.com videos. They have so much amazing stuff, and I'd love to be able to capture & save some of it.

I'm sure I'll need a program, so my question is, does one exist that is somewhat simple to interpret and use?

You need to get a program that rips the streaming video. You can do it with audio too. My computer is too weak to get it to work but a google of 'rip streaming video' should return some pretty relevant stuff.
