Ok, I don't know much about software. I need the new java in order to get some Pearl Jam bootlegs. Does it cost anything to download the new java? Thanks a lot!!

Ok, bc I had to register in order to be able to download it, but I haven't tried downloading it yet and I'm not so sure about it right now.

shouldn't have had to register to download the program. it does not cost to download it and install it.

What threads are they erasing? Maybe they're against the rules you agreed to when you registered to a privately-run board?

i cant get on your link there. the thread was something like "favorite word for vaginas". your opening up a can of worms when you start selectively erasing threads

what you find offensive and what i find offensive are two entirely different things. c'mon, we're all adults here (i think). it was obviously something done in jest, there are other things on here I find offensive, and generally what i do is IGNORE them. if enough people did this, it would have just gone away. like i said, your opening up a can of worms when you do this. and it was a new thread, so it wasnt done to clean up

There's a little exclaimation mark at the top of each post that you can report to the Mods if there is something you don't like or find offensive. I can only assume that someone else found it offensive and reported it.

i was just trying to get to the bottom of this, not be part of the problem. i dont care to be a hypocrite here. a couple of other people who were on the thread with me were curious about it as well. we are after all, on the site of our favorite band who advocate free speech

i honestly do not understand why so many seem to have difficulty with this issue. pearl jam advocates free speech, yes. however, they also have chosen to have a moderated message board.....with clear guidelines/rules to follow...so obviously, not always[ about full and total free speech.....like much in life. yes, we have free speech, but most also have the good sense to self-censor given various circumstances....such as while at work....in the presence of children.....etc. you choose how and what to say, and how to say it appropriately. here, if you don't do it for yourself, the mods do it for you. or, as someone else pointed out......the report to mod alert i am sure is utilized as well, b/c cmon, honestly, you think the mods read each and every post in each and every thread?

You need to read the AET: New Rules posted at the very top of AET. Until then, you really shouldn't post in AET if you don't understand why the vagina name thread was deleted. :rolleyes:

ok done. and i still dont understand. this is about clicks and keeping people out of threads, it doesn't say anything about subject matter.
