I was thinking it would make things unstable with all the avatars? Then again...I saw similar messageboards like this and they seemed to be okay.

It would be nice to have avatars here though.

Hmm how about try and email Sea or Kat? :)

  • im a regular user on the Megadeth board and i'd say theres probably about the same amount of people on there each day as there is on here and they have avatars and can upload photos in posts too so i dont see why this would slow down the board.Maybe i should email Kat;)

  • i had no idea what an avatar was until this year

one of my students makes a different one of me daily.

as of now i am a black woman with long blonde hair in daisy duke shorts

    hahahaha

not really, but you know, i guess that is the perception some days

one day in a drawing i was a red head (think bobble head) with black lips, pale skin a cut off tee that said rock authority and bully button hanging out

    i don't know where they get these ideas . . .
  • no avatars and picture attachment = less shit to moderate.
    I miss you hippiemom.

EXCELLENT point...and i bet the real reason why they are not allowable. while kat and sea are paid moderators of this board....this by far is NOT their only duty in their job descriptions i am sure...and this is a big, active board.....with all-ages members....and, a representation of pearl jam as well. i am sure this simply makes it much easier to control content here....makes sense. i do still like avatars..eh well...there are plenty of boards out there if you so desire....can certainly frequent many...me, i prefer just this one, even w/o avatars. ;)

I'd probably have an Eddie or a Mikey avatar or just something from the DTE video.

And that is some interesting article...

  • "In January of 1978, Chicago was hit with a blizzard, which dumped record amounts of snow throughout the midwest. Among those caught in it were Christensen and Randy Suess, who were members of CACHE, the Chicago Area Computer Hobbyists' Exchange. They had met at this computer club in the mid 1970s and become friends."

    oh my god!

avatars are the bastard children of mr. suess. you've got to be kidding me. . . that is too funny. the dude's name is suess!
  • well i pm'd kat and sea a couple of days ago and still have no answer?!?!?!

  • still no answer!!!i guess we're all naughty children and cant be trusted to have avatars!LOL

  • or it could simply be.....b.c pj is in the midst of a SA tour at the moment, so kat and sea just might be a wee bit busy with other pressing issues and will get back to you in time. either way, i think you got your answer(s) here honestly....sucks up too much bandwidth, and easier to monitor for content w/o them.
