i have a 15 gb ipod and also have an itrip. i looooove it!!! i used to have 80 million cds in my car, but now i just use the itrip. it's also really handy for when you're in a vehicle that doesn't have a cd player and all the radio stations suck (i'm always driving work vehicles,so it's really nice to have the itrip.)

    I've got this thing: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1072287118476&type=product

    and absolutely love it!
I have a '98 Civic, and for anyone who's ever seen one with a factory installed CD player, you know how impossible it is to access the player. It's behind the cup holders, which means emptying them of cups every time you change a CD....
But I digress. It's a pricey product, but the quality is fantastic, it keeps your iPod charged while you play it, and it has a few cool options on how to mount it.

I have an ITrip for the Ipod Mini and it is fairly good. There are certain conditions which sometimes prevent it from being perfect, but it's better than changing CD's all day.

this was the one i was thinking about getting if i were to get an ipod.

is the only way you can connect the ipod to your car stereo is if the stereo has Aux jacks? I'm not sure if mine does....is there any other way to hook it up with a wire?... i'd much rather have cd quality sound than mess around with an FM transmitter.

depending on your car you should be able to go to tweeter or best buy or someplace similar and get a line-in installed into your stereo so you can play the ipod without messing with an FM transmitter. i had an itrip and the sound quality wasnt too good, and it didnt work all the time. sometimes they work fine, sometimes they dont. try and get an actuall line in installed, i think it runs around $50 depending on car and installation factors.

sweet, something i need to look into. I like the 50 dollar quote, not much more than an FM transmitter would be. Thanks for the help.

that sounds really cool. you guys are right, the sound quality from the itrip does kind of suck. what is this "line in" thing that you're talking about?

I'm still in the stone age. I have a Tape Adapter in my car. I hook it up to my iPod and it works fine.

yeah, it's odd that i wish i didn't have a cd player in my car so i could just go the tape deck route.

I have a 40G Ipod, the I trip works good for me. The Itrip is an Fm modulator that runs on a FM station that you set it to. It is defaulted to 87.9 FM. The I-Trip comes with a CD that will allow you to make a change to a different FM station. I also tried that item someone listed that they purchased from Bestbuy. I liked the fact that you can set it to any station you wanted by just pressing a button on it, but it was too big and if you touch the actual unit while it is in your lighter adapter, it loses the signal. Plus if you have a cupholder right there forget about using it anymore. It does come with an attachment to extend the unit and move it so it is in a different location then right in front of the lighter plug.

Best bet is to get an audio cable if you have a place you can plug it on your radio/cd player, like an aux port, or get an Itrip. The ITrip is wireless and work great for me.

As someone else mentioned i wish i had a tape player to do this. You get great sound quality. Much better then a fm transmitter. I use the imonster cable. It is a little more expensive but i think it works a little better. monster usually makes good products.

I was unaware a line in would be so inexpensive. I will have to look into this option now.
