IPOD Help

I just bought an IPOD Nano and I charged it and already have ITUNES, but nothing happens to install it on my computer or sync it or whatever.

    Did you try going to My Computer and checking Devices With Removable Storage?

    Make sure you aren't connecting it through a USB hub. It won't recongnize the device unless it's plugged directly into the computer. Also make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes. Upgrade if need be.

    Uh, not for me. I sync from a hub. Works just fine.

    I found with my ipod that it won't show up unless I open itunes before I even plug the bloody thing into my PC. Otherwise, forget it!

    problem solved, apparently it was something with my brand of computer (toshiba), but the guy at the apple store fixed it.

    Figured I'd post a general help question rather than starting another ipod thread.

    I think I read in the manual that you cannot charge the new shuffle without iTunes loaded on the PC. Is that true? Plus, if you've sync'd it with PC1 can you just install iTunes on PC2 and simply charge it without syncing it? I have a friend that wants me to use my pc to load all their music, but then they'll have to charge it with their PC. Me, not being an apple or ipod fan, I have no idea!!!!!!! I can read through the manual, but frankly am usually pressed for time, so if anyone has some advice, I'd greatly appreciate it!

    You can charge the shuffle on any computer as long as it has iTunes. You do not need to sync it.

    Ok, so that's awesome. Thank you. But, so far, I've found no setting(where people have told me it should be) to NOT automatically sync the second gen shuffle. That would be a problem, no?

    OK I've looked everywhere but I can't see where you can NOT have the shuffle sync. :confused: I'll keep looking though.

    EDIT: I've looked around and it appears you can't plug the shuffle in without it syncing.
