Problems with Itunes/Gracenote

Here's yet another question about Itunes.
I just bought a new Ipod and when it arrives, I plan on loading almost all cd's I have into it.
But I'm having troubles with Itunes. Both Musicstore and Gracenote doesn't work. I get an errormessage saying "Unable to connect to Itunes store/Gracenote CDDB. Make sure you're connected to the internet and try again".
My internetconnection is working fine and my firewall is set to allow communication from/to Itunes.
Can anybody inhere please tell me what to do? Really don't feel like punching in 20000 tracks manually.
Thanks.

If it doesn't then I'll look into this a bit further.
Are you using a Mac or Windows based pc?
I have tried all that, but nothing helps.
No, I haven't ripped all of my musiccollection yet. But some of it is, cause I ripped it for my old Mini 4GB.
I'm using Windows XP with servicepack 2.

Well, for ripping your cd collection, I would suggest you try this program here:

CDex has CDDB support, and is very easy to use. I've never bothered with any other ripper since it came out. Much better than itunes IMO.
As for the already ripped files you have, I never had much luck with any shareware/freeare apps that claim they can automatically rename your mp3's. 4GB's of music to rename manually is no big deal if you have to.
But.. if you're feeling adventourous, you could give one of these programs a try:

Ok, I'll try that CDex thing. But i really wish I could get Itunes to work properly. Nomatter what I do, that requires internetconnection, I get that errormessage.
Thanks for the tips.

Yeah, I tried that. I even tried installing it in different languages, 'cause I thought it might create a conflict, when installing it in english or danish into XP running in Norwegian.
