I was recomeded this program to help me fix up my system but it's all jiberish to me does any one know is there a list of that tells you what does what and how to identify what is good and what is bad.

My system is pretty screwy I've run Adaware and Spybot as well as McAfee and got rid of a ton of stuff but i think there's stuff in the start up i need to get rid of to get my system back to where is should be.

Any advice, on any of this is greatly appreciated.

Peace

Jojo

to be honest the best thing you could do (if your running XP) is to start in safemode,

    open this:

    http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

or google something like 'start-up items windows xp'

just so you know what programs you need and which ones you dont (like quicktime, realplayer etc),

then run ad-aware and spybot, and any other virus checker, they run a lot better in safe mode
We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves.
  • Unless you know what your doing with hijack this and post the log file into a forum that can read those, don't mess around with hijack this.

I'm not trying to be mean, but that program can fuck your machine up so bad you'll have to format.

Take the results from a scan and post them to a techie forum. You should get an answer on what you can kill within a few days. You can send me the list if you want and I'll take a peek at it.

Like people said, if you don't know what it all means you're screwed unless you post it on a forum with dudes that do know something about it.

    Try this, it's a good anti-shitty stuff: http://www.ewido.net/en/

I agree. They are great and they are all volunteers.
