How to hook cable from old TV to new VCR

I have a new vcr/dvd combo. I have an old TV. The combo doesn’t have cable in/out like my TV. It’s just has a black circle outlet thingy. I want my cable to run thru my combo so I can record TV shows. Is there some kind of adapter I can buy?

Thanks very much!

I think there is one you can get at Radio Shack or something. It might be hard to find now a days

did you ever get this figured out? what video inputs/outputs does your combo device have? s-video, composite, component, coaxial

also, what inputs does your tv have?

    Yes, this would work.

get this. i did all the research that night. found that adapter pic. was pretty damn sure that's what i needed. went to radio shack. the guy talked me out of getting it. like i didn't know what i was talking about. this is for my moms TV so she went back a few days later to the same store and bought home the same damn thing!

she has it hooked up but hasn't tried it yet. but i'm sure it works fine.

Nice - next time don't let a guy intimidate you ;) -it's like if a woman goes into an auto parts store too :)

Funny, I had to hook up an RCA adapter for my mom this past weekend as well -old TV. Her VCR from 1985 finally died for good and the TV repairman she had fix it when it got sick went out of business because people treat eletronics as disposable now so she finally got a DVD player for her downstairs.

1985?? wow, they don't make them to last anymore like that.
