mic connection to mac

i have the following things...
(1) a microphone that has the pointy plug, not the one with the three prongs on the end...(very technical i know...)
(2) an iBook G4...and i want to use garageband to record
...the problem is i need something to connect the microphone to the USB port, because the ibook doesn't have a seperate port for a mic like my PC did
any suggestions appreciated, but ones that work within my microscopic budget are appreciated more, thanks...
