HELP!!! Please!!! I'm desperate!!!

So I've downloaded this backing track from the internet to use at a funeral in 8 hours from now. It's a midi file and I can get it to play on my computer, I can burn it onto a cd. But I can't get it to play in anything other than the computer and I'm not lugging that to the funeral.

So I have c-dex and nero and cool edit. I'm just wondering if I can use any of those to convert it to wav?

I'm having no luck with the cdex and nero's not looking too flash either!!

Any help anybody could give me would be much appreciated. :)

:D Yeah, there is a tab to rip but I suspect it will only rip it as midi. Not convert. So I'd just be making another copy of the same cd which still wouldn't play in a cd player. Am I making any sense here at all?

LMAO!!! :D Well at least you've managed to get me laughing again and stop my murderous rage from killing the computer!!
No that made sense!!!!! Woohoo!! It made sense!! Except that I went there and I did exactly what you are saying and nothing happens. :(
I even read the windows help bizo! Which I NEVER do!! And I followed the instructions to the letter and NOTHING!! We just sat here, the computer and me, eyeing each other down!

Mum is trying to download another version of it in MP3. I hate midi files with a passion! And at the very least at least now she is beginning to see the nightmare that playing computer is in this house at the moment! :D

And to top it all off I've had to go and edit this bloody post because of the emoticon nazis! grrrrrrr!

if you rip it back to the computer, it should be ripped as a WMA (Windows Media Audio) file

the WMA file can be burned to a cd and played through regular cd players
  • normnorm Posts: 31,146
where did you find the file? post the link and maybe i can convert it and send it to you..........:D

I can't go into detail, but if you have a real-time audio recorder, you can record the midi in real-time as it plays. Someone here should be able to tell you how to do that real easily. I have a meeting I have to go to now though.
