Ok so for some reason, I'm sure I've accidently pushed the wrong button again, I'm notorious for that
but anyway I digress....for some reason I've been hitting send and recieve on my Microsoft Outlook INBOX all day and NO EMAIL! Now this is very unusual! Very unusual!! Haven't had an email since 10am this morning and it's now 5.30pm. :(

Is it possible that I've clicked something incorrectly in my haste?

Does anybody know anything about INBOXES????

Please!! I really need help!! :o
NOPE!!!

    Aaaahhhh Jeanie... :D

When you hit your send/receive, do you get the 'send/receive complete' in the bottom right hand corner of Outlook? That would give you an indication if outlook is 'doing it's thing' or not. Doesn't have to be outlook.. could be a 'blockage' with your ISP - check with them.

I honestly don't think you can do anything to outlook by 'hitting the wrong button'. You haven't been messing with your options and stuff like that, have you?

:o ah good on you red. :)

It's says send/recieve status 50% then it says send/recieve complete really quickly straight after but nothing comes in. Although I did just get a solitary email from ticketmaster. But I think something is wrong because I've been posting on threads all day and I usually get an email each time someone else posts and there haven't been any since 10am. So then I thought maybe it's PJ but I reasoned that I should still have been getting email from others too, as I usually do in a day. So now I'm just mystified.

I wasn't messing about in the options but I was half asleep this morning and I vaguely remember hitting send/recieve and something unusual happened but I just kept clicking the mouse and I really have no idea what I did if anything.

    So I'm mystified.

Just to double check that all is well with Outlook, go into 'Tools' then 'send/receive settings' then 'show progress'. In the box that will pop up it will show you what is happening. Within that, there is a little tick box that says 'don't show this dialogue box during send/receive'. Make sure it's not ticked like that you can see what is happening when you do hit 'send/receive'.

The dialogue box will show what is happening on all your accounts (if you have several) and if the send/received is not progressing right, there is also an 'error' tab which you can click and it will give you all the error messages you need!

    Remember.. could be your ISP!

If you want, pm me your e-mail and I can try to send you something.

While I can't help you, I just wanted to point out that on the main page you see 'Help! I've killed Microsoft...'
    ...and it's frickin' hilarious :P

Well after all that fun we've just had, I've had a look in options here and under subscribed threads where it says notification instant, NONE of the boxes and ticked! But I can't see how to fix it. Coz it all seems ok when I look at edit option and go to default thread subsciption mode "instant email notification" is the option chosen.

aaaw my head hurts!!

Don't suppose you know what would happen if I hit "reset fields" at the bottom of the edit options page instead of "save changes"? :o
