Problem with my laptop

I have a lenovo that just recently lost sound in the right side. if there is nothing plugged in, if there are headphones plugged in, or speakers, it's all the same-- no sound coming out of the right side. i checked the volume controls and they are all normal.

anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is, and how i could fix it?

    Uh, just make sure you are using stereo headphones, there should two gold or black rings around the 1/8" minijack.

    Other than that your port might be shot.

    Otherwise you may have a hardware short/issue
