    because they said so.

I also think it is to dicourage yes/no replies
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
  • well I finally managed to do it bit I had to add more symbols like ......... or ,,,,,,,,,,
but whats the point?? the answer will be the same no matter how may comas I add, thats just stupid..

    I think so too.

look, escarina, if everyone would just answer like 'yes' or 'no', this message pit would overheat methinks.

although it might be really annoying sometimes, it's just more fun to read a bit longer posts, innit?
"Don't be faint-hearted, I have a solution! We shall go and commandeer some small craft, then drift at leisure until we happen upon another ideal place for our waterside supper with riparian entertainments."
  • well tell me whats the difference between
    *yes................*
and *yes* (there are such posts and similar)

also, I wanted to post on the band thread and I was supposed just to post the name of the band, but it happened to be less than 10 symbols, now how's that?

what I mean is, sometimes you just NEED to post less than 10 symbols..
    but whatever, nobody cares obviously.

And no one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide

The all caps word "NEED" and "post" should never be used in the same sentence. Nothing that we do on this board is THAT important. I agree it's a good time and we talk about some good stuff...but it's just a message board. Which means the 10 character minimum is NOT that big of a deal. It's mildly annoying at best....and that was at first. The decision to make a 10 character minimum is a standard for vBulletin....which is the software company that makes this bbs software.

eMMI, great answer but not the standard one here at the pits about longer posts.

according to someone who replied about the banning policy, in which it is explained that we can not troll, i'm now using this very unusaul and ugly in connotation term, as a verb, like strolling, but now we're trolling, so this very arbitrary judgement of the lengthy post can actually get you accused of trolling and thus banned, apparently.

let me go find the explanation that i was given: "A troll is someone who just posts the same thing over and over and usually FILLS UP THREADS WITH REALLY LONG POSTS"

i think depop has assessed the situation more accurately:

    "because they said so.

I also think it is to dicourage"

(which reminds me of this hilarious scene in a book, the pigman by paul zindell in which a kid is told not to feed the monkeys -- why? -- "because i said so.")
