torrenting throgh a router

hey I just set up my router so I can playstation online but it's pooching everything up with my computer. how do I turn the firewall off on the router for one program?

    and how does one do that I've tried on the router's page or something

    all routers are different....go to the makers website...they usually have instructions on how to do it

    but if you give us a more accurate description of the problem and equipment used...

    I can't stress enough that you cannot give too much information when asking for help in networking matters... experience in Cisco TAC tought me that :)

    ok I played around a bit and think I have it, it's uploading but not very fast, although I think that is more because nobody wants anything at this instant. is it possible that it's still like filtering some out or does that fact that I can download and upload at all mean I'm in the clear? I mean my NAT reachability says it's ok and is in the green

    On your average home use router, it should mean you're in the clear. Torrents are indeed based on the pillars of offer/demand.

    No need to worry about upload speeds though (as we usually don't want to upload as much as download) and speeds are usually limited by your ISP
