hey I just set up my router so I can playstation online but it's pooching everything up with my computer. how do I turn the firewall off on the router for one program?

all routers are different....go to the makers website...they usually have instructions on how to do it
This is the best site. You choose your router and the program and you get step-by-step directions with screenshots.

but if you give us a more accurate description of the problem and equipment used...
I can't stress enough that you cannot give too much information when asking for help in networking matters... experience in Cisco TAC tought me that

No need to worry about upload speeds though (as we usually don't want to upload as much as download) and speeds are usually limited by your ISP
