Too bad the Google toolbar is still a step behind! Knowing them they'll catch up today. Hopefully the torrentbar will upgrade pretty soon too.

I personally hate add-on toolbars. Working in IT, I see too many people with 5 plus toolbars which tends to just slow things down more than help anything. PLus with Mozilla having the Google search already there, why do you need the toolbar?

I half agree. If you have the google homepage customized however you have to do your search twice for it to work in the new firefox. I've had it for a couple weeks and that feature sucks since i use the google homepage nonstop. I hate having to type it in multiple times when the previous version had no problem...

Totally agree. You take them off and then a week later your doing something else to the CPU and those toolbars are back on.

I also like this version of FF.

I had to revert back to 3.0 none of my add ons worked

no biggy really. I dont see the advantage of 3.0.1 anyway
I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.
  • I use the Ratpoison WM, so most of my browsing is done through Links (The browser). I have tried FF 3.0.1 and it was okay, maybe a little tweaking is needed on the default skin IMO. Size things down a bit.
    no matter where you go,
    there you are.

I hate all the others but I love the Google one. I have my Firefox search bar (with many search engines) set to display the results in the current tab, and my Google toolbar set to open a new tab for the results, so that's one way I take advantage of having both. I also use the buttons that appear and let you find the words you searched for on the page. But the part I use most is the auto fill, and it's worth it just for that.

EDIT: Forgot I mentioned the torrent bar too. I got that one because the sites I used kept getting shut down and the bar gives you a list to choose from. I keep it turned off unless I need it so it's not too cluttered. I recently traded up from an ancient Delorian-style Dell to a newish black-case version that has three times the processor speed and twice as much memory. I also still use a Windows 98 machine for audio processing, so slow is a relative term.

I just d/l it and don't see much difference. I love firefox, but what is so good about the upgrade? :)
