Heh, you're joking right? Otherwise, no offense but you obviously know nothing about how websites work.

You're talking to a webmaster, right. I'll ignore that little indiscretion. Many vBulletin sites suffer from slow server loads. It's to do with the software, bad php scripts, and the like. I was going to link you to the vBulletin community forum to explain, but it's crashed as I type.

Lots of people connecting slows down server CPU, but the problems are there in the first place. This isn't just a bandwidth issue.

Here we go. You'll see it's an ongoing vBulletin problem, going back a few years.

I see. Maybe Kat and Sea should switch it over to another board system like phpBB.

man the board has been tempramental lately. sometimes works great, speedy as usual...then the next minute...pages won't load properly, lots of error messages, waiting forever for pages to load. %&*#$%...grrrrr....patience is not one of my strong points. :p

    vbulletin sucks
  • is there any chance something could be done to fix these problems? perhaps a complete switch of "board company" ... the board often runs really really slowly.. or just shows that white error message "error in the database"

We're scheduled to get the upgrade for vBull.

For right now though...I think it takes longer when it has so many polls to compute.

Yeah...all of those polls are getting kinda old, can you limit people like one poll per day or something....I mean there are like 20 polls for the ultimate PJ album tracks 1-100000000!!!!

Polls have been disabled for today at least, I think, to give the board a rest. Good idea.
