Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks0 -
How much memory does it take up? To test, hit "ctrl+alt+delete" and it will say firefox and then there will be a number.
If it's too much more I dont need it.
Usually new versions take up more memory and arent that much better. The old iTunes used 30-40 megs of RAM, the new one 80. Fuck that...The less you know, the more you believe.0 -
The big question is, does it work with Vista? I've been using Vista RC1 at work for a little while now and Firefox is NOT compatible. Which was very disappointing. I don't like using IE, even 7. I'll have to check this out. I'm using Vista Business now and since it's officially out wouldn't Firefox have to be compatible in some version?!?!?bugs in the way...I feel about you

Yeah, i too ave been using Vista at work on a testing machine, and you're right; there is no Firefox for Vista yet. Vista for home use won;t be out 'til January some time. I am sure Firefox is working on it.Lizardjam wrote:The big question is, does it work with Vista? I've been using Vista RC1 at work for a little while now and Firefox is NOT compatible. Yeah well, I'd love it for work too! It's been my primary operating system for a few weeks now and I love it! I'd love it more if I could use firefoxaNiMaL wrote:Yeah, i too ave been using Vista at work on a testing machine, and you're right; there is no Firefox for Vista yet. Spell check in the browser really is a no-brainer now that we have it with Firefox.0 -
I've got the little yellow reminder in the task bar telling me I have updates are ready for my computer (IE7). Screw that. I'll wait the six months and 100's of updates for it before I install. And besides I am using the greatest browser ever. FF 2.0 is the best. I've had no problems, it's fast and the spell checking is the best thing ever. Especially for this place.:DaNiMaL wrote:Ada boy!!!

IE7 isn't bad if you're forced to use it(as I am). I can't wait for the next updated Firefox though. Why don't you turn off the auto update notice? Or do you like it?

I switched over from Firefox 1 to Firefox 2 last night. It's working fine. Just wish I had it here at work.0

I switched over a few nights ago, but now I'm getting errors and it's closing on me, and no matter what I have it set to, the new windows come up as tabs. I swear I have it set to new window and not new tab! I'm getting a little annoyed.

I keep it on for security updates.Lizardjam wrote:IE7 isn't bad if you're forced to use it(as I am). I can't wait for the next updated Firefox though. Why don't you turn off the auto update notice? Or do you like it?
Try this. Open a new tab (or window) and in the address bar type about:config. From there you can see all the settings and perhaps you can find what's wrong. I've had FF 2.0 installed since it came out and have had no probs on 3 computers.Lizardjam wrote:I switched over a few nights ago, but now I'm getting errors and it's closing on me, and no matter what I have it set to, the new windows come up as tabs. For a couple days last week my Firefox 2.0 also kept erroring out on me and wanted to restart. No matter if i restored my previous session or started a new one...it kept happening. Though the problem has stopped now. And this was only on my laptop.Lizardjam wrote:I switched over a few nights ago, but now I'm getting errors and it's closing on me, and no matter what I have it set to, the new windows come up as tabs. Hmmm, it is a laptop so I've restarted a few times. I'm at work now, but I'll try cutback's suggestion when I get home. I was annoyed, but not enough to change it. I still love Firefox.bugs in the way...I feel about you

Note that you can no longer deny third party cookies in Firefox 2 unlike previous versions. This is a serious security/privacy downgrade IMHO.
You can do it manually: about:config
Third party cookies track you across the internet via ad banners etc. Even if you block the direct cookies from the site you are on. 2.0 either blocks all or lets them through. Blocking third party cookies is always a good idea. Direct cookies are generally needed for site like the TenClub store.
In Safari you can select to opt out of third party cookies in the "Security Tab."
It is still rated better than IE and should run fine with the final release of vista. If you are running a development version of vista or pre-release you are running a lot of debug code too.
Another Vista note: Invest in 64 bit architecture. 32 bit is becoming obsolete and MS's ability to protect and secure it will degrade.0 -

I won't run it on vista until it's available which they said it won't be until the next update. But I'll try the other fix first.
Btw, was this a copy and paste?bugs in the way...I feel about you
