How do i link directly to a post in a thread?

I hope the title makes sense, i'd like to show someone a specific post from a certain thread, is there some trick to do so? i think i've seen it done before

There are a couple ways you can do it...

1) In the upper right hand corner of every post there is an underlined and hyperlinked number. You can right click on that and copy the link location and paste that for someone. But it will only give them that one post....not the post in the middle of it's thread.

2) The URL from the same underlined number looks something like this: [noparse]http://forums.pearljam.com/showpost.php?p=4018635&postcount=1[/noparse]

Do you see the set of numbers that are: 4018635 ? If you take just that number from any of those links and post it like this: [noparse][post]4018635[/post][/noparse] for it to look like this: [post]4018635[/post]
