running windows on a mac

anyone used this or know someone who has? how does it work? i just found out that i can get a powerbook with windows and an ipod cheaper than i can order a dell through my uni program with the necessary add-ons and an mp3 player. i just want to be sure it's not going to go schizo on me.

    You can do it with a program called Boot Camp, or any other similar program. There's about 2 or 3 different programs that do similar things, Boot Camp being one of them. They're all newly released, so I hear each program has it's own bugs and kinks that need to be worked out.

    With Boot Camp, you need to actually load Mac OS, then restart the computer into Windows. I don't believe you can actually "press 1 for Mac, press 2 for Windows" on startup.

    I'd only install Windows if you need a certain program though. Generally speaking, Mac OS is a lot more secure to outside hackers and viruses and less likely to crash than Windows.
