mp3 -> wav -> flac -> wav -> mp3???

if you convert a mp3 file to wav then convert the wav to flac then convert the flac back to wav then convert the wav back to the original mp3bit rate,,, will there be quality loss??? thnx.

    ok, what if i converted a mp3 to wav burned it on a cd EAC rip the cd and convert the wav back to the original mp3 bitrate will there be quality loss?

    The simple answer is that every time you reencode to .mp3 you are losing audio quality.

    Longer answer is that converting .mp3 to .wav and/or flac maintains the same audio quality as that .mp3. You are NOT improving the audio quality by converting .mp3 to .wav or flac. There is already a lower quality of audio in your original mp3 file. Converting to .wav and/or flac maintains that same level of audio quality as the .mp3. When you reencode back to .mp3 you are lowering the quality of the audio even more.
