Anybody Framed Their Lolla Creature Yet?

I'm thinking about heading down to Michael's to get it framed. Anybody have a picture they could upload of theirs? I'm looking for ideas but not to spend a ton of money. Definitely going with acid free boards though. Also going to be getting my White Stripes poster from Fairfax framed at the same time. Most likely with a red mat. http://www.expressobeans.com/public/detail.php/64522
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

If not Michael's, then where would you recommend? I went to Hobby Lobby and they didn't have the mat I wanted for my White Stripes poster so I decided just to go with a grey mat to match my wall. They called today and told me that they had ripped the acid free mat on accident and they don't order again until next Wednesday so it would be 2 weeks at the earliest. I went and picked it up and am going to look elsewhere.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0

Any idea how much a decent frame job with one mat would cost? I'm looking for a black wood frame, regular plexiglass and acid free mats. Anybody with an estimate? Thanks in advance. Also, I don't want to do any of the work myself.I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0

Just the guy I was looking for. Any tips? I'm not good at this kind of thing and these are my first two posters I'm getting framed. Thanks for the info on the UV Glass. Is it heavy?MasterFramer wrote:UV glazing is the only way to go man... UV Glass is more affordable than UV plexiI wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.0 -
I just frame them myself- but a $10 frame and there you go. And I actually bought it at Michael's- they were 50% off a couple of months ago.www.RLMcDaniel.com

where exactly do you buy this uv glass? or regular glass for that matter. if it's not gonna be in the light that much it really doesn't matter all that much. uv plexi costs as much as the frame and the matting, it's way overpriced.MasterFramer wrote:UV glazing is the only way to go man... My approach:
Acid-free backing board.
UV Glass
Clear spacers (separates glass from print - I usually don't mat)
Plain black frame - Print stands on it's own merits, and fits in many different rooms/wall colors.
American Frame is a good DIY approach.....or you can usually find a reputable shop - but it costs around $120 for a good sized print set up like this. It is all about what it is worth to you.0 -
it can be done on american frame for around 75 with the uv glass, 2 acid free mats, acid free board, it's hard to justify half of the costs being the plexi though.RandomLurker wrote:My approach:

I don't have any pics- but as soon as I get a better mat, I will send you one. They have all sorts of colors at Michaels. I have 6 other posters that I need to frame, so I'm waiting for another 50% off sale and then I'll buy some mats at the same time.adam42381 wrote:Got any pictures? you can get them in any arts & crafts store. you'll also have to buy the wire to hang it with. acid free linen tape is recommended for the matting too. still curious about the rest of the questions if anyone has any answers.lukin321 wrote:Do they sell the clear spacers at american frame?"Fuck the talkin' let's start rockin" - Eddie Vedder 9-5-00 Pittsburgh
