reformatting

i cant seem to be able to reformat my backup drive. i tried the disk management thing and when i right click format the drive it says it cant cause utilities might be using it or something but there is nothing on that drive but unused torrents that arent running and a my documents folder that is also not being used, its not the one or connected to the one on my c drive. i tried to run these things in safe mode and nothing. so how do i reformat this drive? its drive letter is f if that helps at all.

    did you have your main driver backed up when you first bought it?
    i think you're suppose to have it backed up when you first bought the PC.

    i'm not too sure what your question is...there is a system restore option as will in the "control panel", just click "system properties"

    If you have the Windows install disk you can boot from it and reformat that way.

    Other than that, I got nothing.
    I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.

    yeah that doesnt work cause i have a sata drive and the driver keeps getting windows errors. so i need to reformat someway.

    Try GParted it's a Linux partitioning tool

    I do believe it's a live cd too

    I have formatted many drives

    or get Ultimate Boot CD has tons of tools for drives and what not
    I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.
