Who can help me with my PC problem?

I have been stubborn before but this takes the cake. My PC has a virus and I could fix that, HOWEVER, I need to be able to see (monitor) in order to do so. My video card is integrated into my mother board and the video card is fried. Bought a PCI video card and installed in the PCI slot but still doesn't disply on the monitor. The monitor is ok.

I am tired of accessing the Internet at work and at the apartment club house. I am ready to take it to the shop.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

is it compatible with your other hardware? perhaps you bought the wrong PCI card.

  • The new card probably doesn't work because you haven't installed the drivers for it I'm guessing. In that case, you might want to make a Knoppix cd, boot up w/ that OS (which will recognize the new video card), back up your data to other cds/drives, then just re-install Windows. When you go to run the Windows installation, it should recognize the new PCI card as well.

I'm sure there's an easier way to fix it, but this is one way to do it. And you'll learn a lot.

thanks for the replies. i finally gave in. the mother board was fried. got a new case, new mother board, new fan and all viruses and spyware removed. the shop even installed new anti virus software. all for $212.47 tax included,

it took over a week, but he said that "there were all kinds of critters" on my hard drive.

btw, i had Spyware Webroot and i have to rate it 'poor'

don't kid yourself...Macs ARE susceptible to viruses. Microsoft products have long been the main target of these programs as they have been viewed as the corporate scum, or however you wish to term them. However, in modern age of crossboots and so, which allow MS products to be run on mac, Linux, etc, these systems are now become MUCH more prone to viruses.

How many people are writing viruses for OS X?

No OS is perfect I'll give you that. As long as Microsoft is around more people are gonna write viruses for it

    again I love my mac.

My guess: the new video card won't work until you disable the onboard one in the BIOS. Unfortunately, you have to be able to see what you're doing with the monitor :D

That is the problem...more and more people are running dual os now a days. Macs are superior, unfortunately, MS/ibm compatibility is generally a standard. There are just too many things you can't run / run properly w/o MS
