Sending a PM

I had a question perhaps someone can answer.

I don't send many PM's to folks on here and something happened to me today when i tried that has never happened before.

I wanted to send a person a pm but for some reason when i put my cursor on their name as i usually would the option to send a pm did not populate. i could view their profile but i was not able to send a PM.

I could only think of three things it could be and wanted to see if anyone knew which it was.

1. I somehow unknowingly did or said something in a post to piss this person off and they ignored me and because of that i can not send them a pm?

2. There is an option to turn pm's off and this person can not receive pms from anyone?

3. something else i am unaware of?

Any clues to which it could be?

yep.. you/they can turn off private messaging.
