Deleting things on computer

This is hard to explain. Is there a way to remove your website history and things you look up on google, altavista, etc... For instance, I was looking at birthday gifts for my wife (purses) and everytime I type the letter p in the search engine it shows what I've looked at in the past. Same with the search bar up top when you click for a website. She uses this computer too and I don't want her seeing what I've got her. Is there a way to delete those things? Thank you.

    Yeah, purses--I believe you ;):)

I tought if you went into "history" there is a delete option. Wouldn't that work?
So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream

Tools>Internet Options>Delete(Should be under browsing history)>Delete History (In here you can also delete form data which should help with what you've typed into search engines.)

Which browser? You'll get more exact directions if you tell us.

Do you have Google Desktop installed? If so you can purge it from there too, if she uses that search function frequently. Or if it's not really purses. ;-) I believe you but maybe someone else will benefit from this thread too.

In mozilla firefox, under tools, options, history, we have checked off to do exactly what yours is doing and ours is not. If you are using it, UNCHECK the box which says to "save in forms and the search bar". Not sure what's wrong with mine. My husband uses ebay all the time to search for mustang parts and he wishes it would work to avoid re typing.

It's not brain surgery, use a different browser :D

    Purse

yeah, well 5 letters starting with Pu anyway, I can see why you wouldn't want the wife to see that.

Safari has a great feature called Private Browsing which doesn't save "Google searches, your cookies, the history of sites you’ve visited, your download history, or information from online forms you’ve filled out." It's great for searching for porn - eeer, I mean purses. And it's available for Mac or PC.

Here's a video that runs through the scenario you described:

i think they are all that feature. in ie you just have to tell it what areas not to save stuff. i dont save google searches cause that annoys me but history and cookies are useful.

also you can try this http://www.ccleaner.com/

run after youre done using your browser and it cleans all that stuff. you can set to keep certain cookies, like from message boards so you dont have to log in and all that everytime. it will even empty you recycle bin if you want.

yes purses are outrageously priced. this might sound negative, but what if you spend $500 and she does not like it?

Purses are expensive... especially when you were paying for porn the whole time looking for one.

Indeed. I made that mistake once.
If you really want to flatter her repeat this:
"I wanted to get you a purse, but I thought it would be nice if we wen purse shopping together"
    the downside:
you have to go purse shopping
    the upside:
she will remember that you actually wanted to go shopping with her. That memory will last longer than the purse.
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key
