This could be very, very bad news for New Orleans.

It sucks it has to enter the Gulf of Mexico, but if it does...start praying, wishing, hoping or whatever you that it doesn't hit NOLA.

Maybe those idiots in the White House will know what to do this time if it does happen.

I'm hoping it doesn't hit N.O. again. That would be terrible after putting the city back together, dealing with that shit again.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

If it does hit it again, NOLA is done. No one will move back. It's such a shame, but true.

Yeah, like I said...it'll be bad if it gets in the Gulf. And I hope it doesn't hit anywhere where people are, but if it hits NOLA anything like Katrina did...that would be incredibly devastating for the city and would probably wipe it off the map.

Dude, if it heads for NOLA...don't ride it out. That's extremely dangerous.

They will be much better equipped this time around and ready for it. The National Guard is already on stand by and much much more prep will be done prior to the storm this time by the folks in town. They will get people out of the low lying areas, and many of the levee projects have been on going for 3 years so if it's a cat 3 they'll be better equipped to handle it.

The high ground down town will still be ok I think.

Hopefully it doesn't gain a lot of strength.

New Orleans is still a unique amazing place and it will remain so after this storm too.

Be careful down there Rain Dog.

I mean I hope, but there are still many parts of the city that are still very vulnerable.

This talking from someone who lived there for five years before and after Katrina.

yeah there was quite a bit of hope involved in the above, the good news is that they are preparing now, when it is south of cuba. So people in the burbs can make plans to evacuate and due to less people being there maybe it won't be as messy an egress as it was with Ivan. Hopefully the Levees hold for this one.

no 18 hour trips to birmingham etc.
