I missed the good old days of walking into a record store and chit chatting with music fans about their taste and whatnot. Nowadays, I walk into a record store and there's nobody to talk to. :(

this store called itunes sells just about everything.
Take time to see the sky,
    Find shapes in the clouds.
Hear the murmur of the wind
    and touch the cool water.
    Walk softly,

You're one cold sonofabitch, Swan, but you speak the truth and that's what I like about you.

It's the same deal in London, although there are still a handful of vinyl record stores still remaining, like on Portobello road - vinyl experience & Rough Trade, and a couple in Camden.
But I hear you. The Virgin megastores, and HMV's of this world suck. There's no atmosphere and no pedigree. They may as well be Burger Kings.

of course, I was listening to the who, jimi hendrix, the clash, CSN&Y, on vinly in 1985. while the sound is a little warmer, I'd take a digitally remastered version any day. I don't care what you say about vinyl.

i don't know if there is one out by you...but mr. cheapo's sells vinyl. :)

record stores are going the way of the dinosaur. it's sad. seeing tower records go under was truly sad. i was even sad to see our local virgin records megastore go kaput. there really ARE no record stores left around except in the city....and mr. cheapo's. :D

    and...
