Question for New Yorkers

How can I find out if/when there are any big events happening in the city? We narrowly avoided visiting the AMNH the day of the Bon Jovi concert, would like to not be stuck in traffic for three hours.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

    I think you can try nyc.gov, towards the bottom it says "check city traffic"

    I don't know much about traffic though, I don't have a car and if I did I wouldn't drive anywhere in Manhattan :D

    turn on the radio. wcbs 880 am gives weather and traffic on the eights and wins 1010 AM gives the same on the ones.

    oh duh! Good call. I forget about that, I never listen to AM radio except when I'm at work to hear the Yankees game!

    I don't think there was ever a day that I have driven to the city that I haven't run into traffic...LoL...If you're going in today, you might get lucky, if its during the week...goodluck :D
