Does CNN.Com ever post good news?

edited October 2008 in All Encompassing Trip
I swear it's usually bad news in those news bullets that appear to the right of the photos. Whatever happened to the days when people won the lottery and it was posted, or a good semaritan gesture? It's always divorce this, injury that with a lot of nonsense thrown in (i.e. Britney, Paris, runaway bride, etc.). Sure, some of it is legit news, especially with the economy and presidential election looming, but geez what a downer that website is.

If it bleeds, it leads. Then they stuff the shit in about people who I don't care about. It's really seems a lot of people only want to read bad news, that's why they do it.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

That's what all news outlets do. I was a communications major in college and we had classes on that type of shit. Look at any newscast tonight and there will be bad news to start, more bad news, more bad news, and a feel good fluff piece at the end.

It's the car crash theory. People always stop and look at a car crash.

I understand that, but it's all negative stuff on there now. There was a time when a couple of the bullets where either positive or uplifting stuff, such as a do-gooder helping impovershed families or an athlete taking time to help build a little league park. You don't see anything like that anymore. Everything is fear, doom and gloom.

Of course, especially now. You can find at least 2 new stories a day about how bad McCain is doing in the polls.
