it's only going to get worse
I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die.
  • they say you'll be able to buy stock cheaper, but if your 401 balance has almost nothing left, it's like you're starting over.

I've "lost" about $40K from my retirement funds this year. I use the quotes because, since I have a long time to go until I retire, it's not really lost money until I cash it out. I still have the same number of shares in the mutual funds.

I don't know how you can stay so optimistic. I lost about $25,000 this year, between 401K, mutual funds and stock, and I am fuming.

I have put some money in CDs. The last CDs I purchase had a 5.5% interest rate and they are insured through FDIC so they are pretty safe.

it's been terrible, atrocious, disastrous, epic, cataclysmic, etc. and I don't even have stocks, a 401(k), mutual funds or anything. I only have a savings account with ING, and I'm even thinking about pulling that out. the future doesn't look good for young people like me.

  • I've lost $40k in the last 2 months in my 401k.

I'm going to Vegas tomorrow....at least if I lose I have some understanding of why I lost.
