I didn't see it yet but cast changes as well as director replacement freak me out.
I mean it was a Stephen Sommers franchise. And Rob Cohen? What are you nuts? The guy directed the Fast and the Furoius and Triple X. It would be even wilder if Vin Diesel played Rick O'Connel.
Plus you just don't go and replace an actress who portrays one of the main characters to whom you got attached to in 2 previous flims of the series.
The last but not the least Arnold Vosloo WAS the Mummy. Probably the writers got out of the Anck-Su-namun storyline pretty much everything that they could. In that case just don't create a movie where Jet Li's supposed to be The Mummy. Are we that dumb to buy this?

I mean it would have made sence if Jackie Chan was doing a fighting movie in his late 80's. They could call it Kung-Fu Mummy.

I don't know whether to go see it or not. Need some thoughts, guys.

I don't believe they 'replaced' Racheal Weisz (sp), I believe she opted out due to scheduling conflicts.

Well, I was trying out my acid tongue first thing this morning. I actually think all of those movies are shite and that Brandon/Brenden, whatever the fuck his name is, should battle Keannu Reeves in a no-holds, who sucks the most, act off to the death.

But what's funny is that my wife likes to watch the Scorpion King so sadly, I own the DVD.

at least they are trying a different idea. I'll wait for this on cable in a few months.

It sucks for all the movies opening over the next few weeks with the beating they are going to take at the box office when the dark knight opens next weekend.

The idea seems pretty good, but it's too far removed from the first two that I think it should be under a different name. Something like a new Indiana Jones run of movies would be better.

Thought about it too. Because something tells me that it's gonna be in the same league as those movies that only screw over the once-loved characters.

Go ahead and flame me... but I actually liked the first two Mummy's AND The Scorpion King:o I don't mind those kind of movies... maybe it's because I grew up watching movies like Bill and Ted's and Encino Man. Mindless stoner comedies prepared me for mindless stoner action movies:D
