I'm a St. John's alum, but they haven't had a good team in some time. I did see Oklahoma and Purdue play Friday at the Garden though.

    Yes, Duke won 76-60

I can't believe coach K actually played a game on someone else's home court but I guess this was dictated to him. Usually he only plays at Cameron or tries to play in an NBA arena. He never plays anyone out of league on their home court

oh and they still get all the calls.

that was awesome - love the smacking the guy across the face then burying a three. I think he just reacted and didn't even realize what he was doing. Good officiating because I don't think anyone saw it in real time (except the one OSU coach points it out) - I was watching it and never saw him do it until they showed the replay. Big Thad Matta fan, I think he is a hell of a coach.

ranked 20 on the espn poll, i think AP has them at 16.

here's to them not getting screwed out of the big dance for a 3rd year in a row. bench is deep, man defense looks great, and they're actually passing the ball a lot more than they have in a long time. now if we could just get them to practice the fucking free throw, we'd be all set.

oh, and i hate duke. i'd love to see SU play duke. it's been floated around that one of the reasons SU didn't get invited to the ACC was because duke didn't want to have to play them 2 times a year in basketball.

The two players right now who are the most fun to watch are Stephon Curry of Davidson and that damn McAlarney kid from Notre Dame. You talk about "gym range".

Yeah I usually get my resources from ESPN. :p
A healthy Devendorf always help, now there's no excuse for sloppy plays like they were doing last season. Flynn is definitely more matured now.

The Big East is gonna be really tough though this season. Definitely better than the ACC! Yeah, I too hate Duke as much as the next guy...

That game McAlarney had against the Heels in Maui was insane...seemed like he couldn't miss in the second half. I hate to say it, but I'm glad Harangody was under the weather in that game. If he was healthy (and playing defense) along with that game McAlarney had, it would have probably been a nail-biter.

  • Good old NCAA hoops. Go Tar Heels. This should be a fun thread with the Duke-UNC fans in here. That was a monster beat down they served up last night against MSU. It's hard to believe they get better when they get healthy and Ginyard comes back. There is no reason they shouldn't be back to the Final Four.

gotta go with my Jayhawks!! yeah---they're young and they lost a TON of people from last season, but they're starting to really play well. Aldrich & Collins are flat-out awesome. it'll be interesting to see just how far they go in the tourney.
