Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    Batman, Bond, etc.
Not all reboots are bad. The more dark and violents ones are working nicely.

    Star Trek....really?

    I'll check it out.

I used to love Star Trek. Wrath of Kahn was my favorite movie for a long time. I must have seen it 100 times. I also really liked Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. Wouldn't call my self a Trekkie though.

Since then, I have totally lost all interest in Star Trek but this movie looks good.

    Star Trek....really?
    Really?
  • Is it just me that thinks it looks like Star Trek with a 'real American college' aged cast? It's like Star Trek meets Dawson's Creek!

The guy that plays Spock is in Heroes, and that's a problem for me, I'll only ever see Sylar.

I also think it's ridiculous that Kirk looks like he's freshly outta the womb and they're all roughly the same age...

    Exactly.
So is it safe to assume you're a Star Trek antifan?

I would say I'm indifferent, and really cannot see myself getting psyched for such movie.

The fact you attended the thread would indicate you either actively dislike Star Trek, or some personality of you attends conferences dressed as a Klingon and you don't know it...

    :p

Regardless, this movie is going to make a ton of dough, whether it is actually good (by Trekkie standards) or not.

Well ya got me.....my secret is out....I just think some movies should be buried and left alone. Plus, I'm bored and I think I actually like talking about things I dislike. Maybe it's to help me gain some knowledge for those things I find ridiculous...Like NASCAR and pogs.

Hey, if they do a good job then why not release another movie?

Well we're right back to my original point. They're gonna make a box office killing, and you're going to be very happy.

Know what's funny about growing up in the generation that we did? Sarcasm becomes a very gray area.

    "Dude, are you being sarcastic?"

"Dude, I don't even know anymore."

On topic, after ignoring the last three TV series (most of them anyway) I think the movie looks good.
