    1: I'm an idiot

    2: There is nobody who does my job, so if I take time off I end up working twice as hard before or after to catch up (unless I somehow time it so that not a lot of the usual client emergency requests come in).

    go camping/backpacking. if you get in trouble with that, at least its an exciting struggle for survival, instead of just getting bitched at by family members for losing money in vegas

    Trust me I understand your situation. We recently had some lay-offs so my department is pretty thin right now and I'm struggling to find days to take off. I almost wish that my company would just pay us for unused days at the end of the year.

    I get the day before and the day after christmas and the day before and the day after new years off so im taking the 2 other days off those weeks I finish work on the 18th and I dont go back until the 5th :)

    Nice. It's tradition to always take the day after New Year's Day off since there's the Mummer's Parade and 2 Street festivities at night. It's always a debacle.
