Anyone know a way of getting a loan to consolidate your debt and who you can call to do so? I am getting worked on some of my CC's and loans with interest rates and i NEED to save some money each month.

I use these guys http://www.consolidatedcredit.org/ and haven't had a problem in the last two years I've been in the program. I think I have one more year left. I had six credit cards in college. The interest rate on the one with the biggest balance was like 20 percent. My minimum payment didn't even cover the interest I was acruing.

It's not a quick fix. I pay about $400 a month for my payment (you can do one payment a month or one every two weeks) but its better than bankruptcy. Plus, you have no idea how good it felt when I got that my first card all paid off!

It sucks and I know I got myself into this mess. But I also supported myself and paid for college without any handouts from mommy and daddy. I am looking to be debt free in a year. Its a good feeling. You'll get there!

PM me if you have any more detailed questions.

Have you looked in to social lending networks? They are basically networks that allow people to borrow money, for whatever reason, from other indiviudals at a lower rate than they could get from a bank. I know several people that have done this and it's worked out well for them. The site below is one that my friend used. She was looking to consolidate all her credit card debt. She said she saved a ton of money and didn't have to pay an advisor.

  • petrocs, try calling your credit card companies and get them to lower your rates. If you are in good standing, I am sure they can. If they say " I am not authorized", then ask for someone that is. I did this on two of my cards.
