  • All the best, I can't imagine how horrible that must be - but like others have said early detection is a very good sign.

I am so sorry to hear this, but after going over to cancerbackup (it's a great site) and reading about it, I believe that you will be FINE! Please keep us updated on what treatment they think you will need.
I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

No worries.. like your doc said.. its very common and highly treatable. Easiest form to get rid of. My mother had it on her leg and it was removed and she has been fine every since.

keep us updated and good luck with everything.
  • i'm sorry to hear that Petrocs..

please keep your chin up and take care :)

I'm a 2 year survivor of leukemia. I suggest you go to the website for the leukemia lymphoma society. They have a ton of information there and message posting boards.

    http://www.leukemia.org/hm_lls

Here is the link with information to your specific type of lymphoma. I don't think you want to necessarily confuse it with skin cancer. Yours appears to be a disease of the lymphatic system which manifests itself primarily on your skin.

It's understandable to freak out initially. For me, it was important to freak out, I mean why try to hide it? :) Then put your game face on and get down to the business of kicking cancer's ass.

    You can do it!

These are great sites! Thank you so much..and thank for all the support..I wish you all knew how much it really means to me. I have nothing...NOTHING but love for all my PJ friends.

I am an oncology fellow, but we (my practice, that is) don't really deal with skin cancer unless it is melanoma or has spread to other parts of the body. The anxiety you're feeling totally sucks, but try to remember that after your appointment, this will just be a really bad memory. You have a very treatable, curable form of skin cancer. Just make sure to check yourself frequently for suspicious moles and growths!

Good luck! I think you will be just fine, but I know how scary any cancer diagnosis is.

Yeah I was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer about 6 months ago (basal cell carcinoma). Melanoma is usually the one you have to really worry about, your's is curable. The doctor carved it out of my leg and then used sodering iron type thing to burn all the skin around it. I have a scar around where it was, but that's about it. It was from getting too much sun, and genetics... my dad has had skin cancer on his face removed 3 times now. He's still fine... you'll be fine too
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.
  • don't know much about that form of cancer from what I have read here, you'll be fine dude....
    Good wishes to you.

Cancer sucks (and so do the iggles;) )

It will work and that is the only way you can think of these things. Get your mind in the right place and the body will come around. Don't leave room for doubts. I'd offer you good luck, but you don't even need it.
