The worst thing about Halloween is, of course, candy corn. It's unbelievable to me. Candy corn is the only candy in the history of America that's never been advertised. And there's a reason. All of the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911. And so, since nobody eats that stuff, every year there's a ton of it left over. And the candy corn company sends the guys to the villages and they collect out of the dumpsters all the candy corn we've thrown away. They wash it!! They wash it!

I'll never forget the first time my mother gave me candy corn. She said, "Here - Lewis, this is candy corn. It's corn that tastes like candy". This tastes like crap! And every year since then, Halloween has returned and I, like an Alzhiemer's patient, find myself in the room, and the room has a big table in it, and on the table is a bowl of candy corn. And I look at it as if I've never seen it before. "Candy corn", I think. "Corn that tastes like candy. I can't wait". SON OF A BITCH!!

  • Having kids is the best. My wife takes them to the houses. When they come away from the door, she takes out the best ones and eats them on the way to the next house. I think the kids get the candy corn.

For me the mini Butterfingers are the best

    Twix, Nestle's Crunch, and Butterfingers.

I just wish they would have kept the special elvis edition of reese's cups (peanut butter and banana) that they had last year.

    They were awesome.

Not to rain on anyone's parade or anything, but does anyone eat real chocolate made by experts on a regular basis? Since I've gone to this place called The Chocolate Bar here in Boise, all that other stuff tastes like wax.

Still, I'm not above pushing down the occasional trick or treater for a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup.

  • You get the most bang for your buck with the little packs of M & M's. But I think the best are the mini Twix bars and Snickers. Those are the ones I buy, because those are the ones I like to eat.

You mean go to an actual choclatier? No, but it is weird that now that I am in my 30's, I like dark chocolate.

This may sound a bit dickish but having a kid that's allergic to nuts is the best come Halloween, trust me I wish he wasn't severely allergic. All those wonderful Halloween candies that contain nuts or traces of nuts come right to me. The next fews days are usually an orgy of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, M&M's, Twix bars, Snickers and Butterfingers.

Yes. My oldest son is severely allergic to nuts and all nut products, so every halloween the majority of the Trick or Treating candy he collects he can not eat. So what I do is I order chocolate from a special company that produces nut free chocolates and I give that to him instead. It tastes so much better than the other mass produced chocolate.
