So I haven't been to Chipotle in a long time. Finally decide to hit it up for lunch today.

Now the deal used to be 3 soft tocos or 4 crispy taco.

Well apparently they changed it and now it's three of either. What the hell?

I WANT MY 4th CRISPY TACO!

Either way, if I can't get #4, then crispy tacos are dead to me.

Anyone else encounter this phenomenon?

Jack in the Crack ( back in the day ) had 3 tacos for a dollar. The fat kid in me was highly disappointed when they made it 2 tacos for a dollar.

Eh...I think their burritos suck actually. There is a littel greasy mexican place close to me that has amazing burritos. But I like the Chipotle tacos.

    Agreed.

People who get tacos piss me off because it takes longer for them to put 3 tacos together rather than one delicious burrito. There should be punishment for these people, but now that I think of it, the humiliation of getting tacos at Chipotle is punishment enough. :)
No longer overwhelmed it seems so simple now.

Just think of it as a price rise that actually gives you some soft taco for free....

This may be the reason they took away the 4th Crispy Taco....

humiliation for people who expect the 4th and argue.... and punishment for all the pain and suffering they have caused others by making them wait!!

I like to think of sausages, meat pies.. and yes possibly taco meat as "Mechanically reclaimed meat".... I think that is an actualy meat process term.....

Meat scraped from the floor.... offcuts and the like... mmmm so yummy... :)

One reason i'm glad Taco Bell doesnt exist in Australia anymore! :)

15 year olds handling taco mince does not work :p

You know, one thing that pisses me off about chipotle, why does quacamole cost 1.95 or something like that? that ridiculous!!!!

I told my husband about this post, and he was really annoyed with chipotle..

he's never ordered hard tacos, or soft tacos for that matter.. but when it comes to matters of the heart, he is passionate. hahahahaha..

Maybe its corn prices going up? Thats totally not fair, you get so much less with the hard tacos.

Man, they raised the prices for everything there! My regular burrito combination I get is almost a dollar more than it used it be.

Maybe its the healthiest thing on the menu...

and all healthy stuff is expensive these days.... and all the things that are very bad for you cost next to nothing!

It makes no sense.. why don't governments reverse this ideal?
  • So I did some research and apparently they made the taco shells larger. So even though you only get three...it equals out at the end. So tomorrow I shall return to Chipotle and investigate this intriguing enigma.

Good Lord. What does the government have to do with the price of guacamole at Chipotle? WHat laws are they supposed to pass to "fix" this?

I didn't mean for them to regulate the price of guacamole at Chipotle.... i meant for them to change the price of healthy stuff like fresh fruit and vege.... versus the price of fast fatty foods... by making fast food expensive and fresh healthy food cheaper!....

haha funny that you thought i meant for them to regulate the price of their guacamole... although i guess that might be what i meant as well....

Seems as if they had to decide whether to raise prices or cut the portion.

I'va always wondered why it was 4 hard vs. 3 soft.

I always get tacos there since I don't like the rice, and the tortilla overpowers the meat since there is no rice involved.

I love the Jack in the Box tacos...I always wonder what sort of meat they use, but maybe its best not to know!

I now feel like getting a burrito from campo's!

Off-topic of the taco ordeal, but....

I asked them about adding some queso sauce to their menu. I received a reply stating that they like to keep their menu simple and if they added something, they would have to take something away and while they appreciated my suggestion, they don't really think that's what the consumers want.

Not what the consumers want? I was a consumer and I asked for it. Hahaha.
