Wow, with all the thread closings for deflecting from the main topic, what if we had a thread where there was no specific topic and we could talk about anything?!

Just call me a rebel!

Going back to the tread, generalizations about white women.
Does it not agravate you at all, at the end of that thread people having conversations about who's Mom likes what team and is going to have a great time with someone else's Dad? I was just curious? Deleting threads suck, but people who get threads deleted are worse.

I wouldn't say it annoys me but it does bore me. You can always skim through it though.

The funniest thing is that this is an actual lyric from an actual song.

Yeah, it makes sense. I just find that I stop going back to that thread when it gets off track, which is probably no loss.

So, random question here...My little boy, aged 11, watched Shaun Of the Dead last night. He's seen it maybe 4 times, it's his favourite movie. Giving that it's a cert 15, and has lots of F-ing and B-ing in it, and one or two C words, does it mean I'm a bad parent for allowing him to see it/watch it with him/laugh my arse off at it, with him ?
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

to me it depends on the child.....some kids can handle it while others can't....it's up to the parent to make this determination.....so if you think he's mature enough to watch stuff like that then enjoy! :)

I watched Casino, Goodfellas and Taxi Driver WITH my dad when I was 8 or 9 and I didn't end up TOO bad so I think you're ok :) I reckon treating your son like you appreciate his maturity and not mollycoddling him will help in the long run.

I watch stuff like this with my kids all the time. The funny thing is, since I do not make a big deal out them not watching things with more adult themes, they very often police themselves. They find the stuff boring and will often leave and go watch the discovery channel.

I will, just today I told him once more he wasn't allowed to watch 'An American Werewolf in London', much as I love the film and would like him to enjoy it, there's that scene in the porno cinema, I'm not sure he needs to be watching that. Guess we'll stick to Waynes World tomorrow...again :D

How old did you say? 11... yeah that's ok. I was thinking Tia Carrere might be more harmful to a young lad's mind than An American Werewolf in London :D

Tia Carrere can provide an 11 year old boy with all he needs, along with the laughs...and let's not forget part 2 with Kim Basinger  :) . As great a movie as American Werewolf is, I don't think he needs to see Brenda Bristols writhing on a 30 foot screen, whilst the werewolf wreaks havoc in the porno cinema. So, do you remember the scene?

I don't unfortunately :o The only scenes I remember from that film are the one in the pub and the first transformation into the werewolf. Now you've got me wanting to see it again :D
