I'm not a Met fan, but regarding these places, I can understand the sentimentality. I've heard fans say, this may a dump but it's our dump. The new places are nice, but there's something to be said for the old and antiquated places in all sports.Reading 2004

Call Shea a dump, but it was METS fans dump.
I've been going to Shea for Mets/Phils games since I was 9. Shea was worse than the Vet. Sure the Vet was astroturf, but everything about Shea wreaked of trash. Once again, I can't stress enough the junk yards, and tire fires that litters this piece of garbage land instead of bars to hit up afterwards. There's absolutely NOTHING around this area worth staying around for except a tailgate which the cops are dicks about.
From one piece of shit fan to another (and more trashy) - have fun NOT watching your team in the playoffs. Eat it.0 -

I love all the excuses. We were still in the top of the league in doubles and homers in games AWAY. So it doesn't matter. And what happens in the playoffs remains to be seen. And that's the beauty of it see? We know what your fate is already.
And struggle? Call it what you will. I'll call it two straight division titles.0 -

Jearlpam0925, you are awesome!!! I hate the Mets and was so glad to see them lose AGAIN on the last day at Shea!!!
Good luck in the playoffs until you get to my Dodgers!"We're fixed good, lamp-wise."0 -

Love you too buddy! I'd much rather be a "piece of shit" fan of a winning team in a beautiful stadium as opposed to whatever you deplorable human beings call yourselves up there. I don't know what was more exciting for me....being there on Saturday night when the Phillies clinched or watching Wes Helms (WES FREAKING HELMS) knock you out of the playoffs again. I made sure to DVR's the 8th and 9th inning yesterday just for all the crowd shots of you "piece of shit fans" sulking and looking like you wanted to die. I was literally laughing outloud.

PS...this is all you need to know about the Muts:
"In the clubhouse, players who endured a miserable fall and a dreary winter could not believe they were in for more of the same. José Reyes sat sobbing in front of his locker, his head in his hands, cursing himself. Wright, who admitted feeling pressure to carry the team, staggered around like a zombie, his eye black smudged. Jeff Wilpon, the chief operating officer, walked around consoling players, shaking Schoeneweis’s hand and sitting beside John Maine and Mike Pelfrey to offer encouragement. As he left, Carlos Beltrán fell onto Martínez’s shoulder, crying."

More reason the Mets are pieces of shit is that part of their new stadium is going to look like Ebbets Field.
Memo to douchebags: get your own history. The Dodgers left. Move on."We're fixed good, lamp-wise."0 -
Back in 06 I went to Shea for the first time. While it was generic, I was amazed by the size of it. Those upper decks are STEEEEP.
The next year I went to Yankee Stadium for the first time...the Cathedral of Baseball, the House the Ruth Built, the Happiest Place on Earth, etc and I was amazed by how much it sucked. Everything about the place was dull. The color of everything was faded, like a plastic bucket that has been sitting outside for years. If it wasn't for the white facade, the place would have been more generic that Shea. I don't understand the love that place gets, to me both were depressing shitholes."Don't lose your inner heat...ever" - EV 5/13/060 -
where are the pictures of the mets team picture where they are all choking?0
-
I just want the Phils fans in here and the 1 Met fan it seems like your jumpin on to know your both makin me laugh
Philly hasn't won shit in shit in forever!! Mitch Williams is a choker, so is McNabb,Iverson,Lindros and all your super lame players over the years.
Oh I forgot the sixers almost beat the Pistons this year, and Eagles looked good against Dallas for 1/2 the game, and the Flyers could have beaten the Penguins, and the Phillies this year(insert your favorite all time excuse)
Mets fans talkin shit to me after my Yankees were sent home early "Dont worry we'll win it this year", your team is a FUCKIN JOKE0 -

If it weren't for the 'joke' that is their bullpen who blew nearly 30 save opportunities, the big bad Phillies even with their remarkable achievement of not losing a single fucking game when leading after 8, would have finished pretty fucking far behind....it was a joke of a season..'I want to hurry home to you

Well, here's the thing - they DIDN'T. Ya see? Here in the MLB games are played for 9 innings. I don't wanna hear your woulda, coulda, shoulda....no New York teams in the playoffs...it really is a beautiful thing.0 -

Yes, I am aware but the clarification is appreciated..just pointing out facts/excuses...there were so many games where the Mets were up like 5/6/7 only to see the bullpen cost them the game..Santana alone should have won well over twenty games this season..but whatever, you're right about the coulda woulda..they stink, and your team is obviously not much better..but better they are and better they were in the last week of the season..

Well thank you. I especially appreciate the high condescending smugness that comes from the usual New Yorker.
Don't worry. Your Yanks will buy whom ever is out there to make your team better.0
