    I must have just missed the launch also. That's pretty cool that you can hear the transmissions. Did i hear correctly, just a few minutes ago the guy said they were going 17,400mph? That's unfathomable!

    I wonder what the combined IQ is of all those guys in the control room? :)

    Yep 17,000mph is the cruising speed. They said from NY to Cali would take 6 mins.

    which is when CNN broke away from their live coverage.

    In this time and age why isnt there a NASA channel on all cable systems?

    Now let me say I am a strong believer in science and everything that has to do with it and typically support this kind of thing, but when the country is in an economic crisis why the fuck are we spending millions of dollars to send people into space for some worthless "mission".

    From CNN...
    "The 15-day flight's primary goal is to update the international space station so it can house six crew members at a time comfortably, instead of the current three."

    Holy fucking shit!

    How about we stop sending stuff into space until we figure out what the fuck we are doing here on earth!?!?!

    Very good; Endeavour was always my favorite of the space shuttles.
