iPod classic, I bought it instead of the iTouch.

Main reason? 20,000 songs. If I got the highest iTouch it would not come near the 80GB. And for $250 how can you beat it? Got it in black, cant wait, listen to PJ wherever I go.

I did the same exact thing.

When the iTouch has 80GB's that's when I'll think about purchasing it.

I got the 160 classic. There will be no filling up this sucker :) though I'll try!

I don't think I've listened to 20,000 different songs in my entire 29 years.

i thought about snagging one just so that i could load my music in lossless format. my itunes only has 6000 songs though.

plus, i've heard that the regular ipod classic is a bit more fragile than my trusty old 8gb nano. something about a spinning hard drive vs a flash drive. i kinda enjoy building my playlist and changing my ipod lineup with my whims. when i had all my music on one ipod years ago, i found i always played it on shuffle and only listened to 1 song out of every 20. could never figure out what i wanted to hear.
    and like that... he's gone.

I got an 80gb iPod that's filled up with 68,2gb of music. Those equal 10631 songs. I prefer to have more Hi-Quality mp3's as the rate at which apple make their tunes (128kbps) is simply not good enough!
  • It makes the most sense, you are getting 10x's more songs for $50 bucks less than the lowest model of the iTouch.

  • Or you could just wait until Christmas when they release the 80 gig iPod touch.

I still use my 60 gig iPod photo from 2005.

Is that when it really comes out?

I just got an 8 gig ipod touch. I really like it. I wouldn't have purchased an ipod touch, but my sister just bought a computer and got it for free! Since she already has an 80 gig, she gave me this one so my daughter could watch cartoons on airplane rides, lol. It's pretty sweet. But it's definitely not worth $299, so I'm glad I got it for free. :D
  • Yep I chose the 80 gig black classic so I won't have to worry about running out of room. I have movies, tv shows and soooo many live shows and it isn't even half way full :) I had a 4 gig mini before and that was just torture......

    agreed.
i have the 80gb as well. no where near even filled, but i haven't even loaded my CD collection in it's entirety...but i still think it wouldn't be filled. i did however, get my husband the 8gb itouch, b/c he likes having different ipods for different purposes. the nano for band music, an ancient 20 gb for music....and the itouch for commuting music and/or movies. so, whatever works.....
    Stay with me...
