fish nibble off the dead skin on your feet?
I've heard you can get these in China town.
It sounds like a BIZARRE experience.
Anyone?

No - sounds cool but unsanitary...if the fish were brand new from being aquarium bred and my feet were their first - I'd try it!

I saw that recently on TV.. and no, I haven't had that done.. nor will I.. I went snorkling once, and a fish touched my foot, and that was the end of that.. I could not imagine sitting through that!

On the chinese blackmarket they have dead fish that will eat your live skin! Of course, those aren't quite as popular.

according to the article, because they don't have anything else to eat. they can't eat the live skin because they don't have teeth.

I have to feel bad for these fish.

You still need a standard pedicure afterwards..what a rip

If something is nibbling on me for 15-30 mins I want a happy ending at least

  • i don't see anything unsanitary about it....it's not like you can't wash your legs off afterwards....

I'm from michigan-land of lakes and i remember standing next to a dock talking to people once in about thigh high deep water-standing still chatting and a school of minnows came up and started nibbling on my legs an dmy friends legs-was the weirdest sensation ever! just tickled a lot! if i remember correctly though i think my friend had a scab on her leg and they were nibbling on it and it hurt..............

seriously, that pedicure is my worst nightmare.

i don't know what it is with me and fish...but i've snorkeled once and i couldn't breathe the whole time because i was panicking and trying not to hyperventilate.

I read the original article on this...maybe CNN? Like, there isn't anything else to report on these days...

I am seriously thinking about trying this, if I can find somewhere in the Atlanta area. Apparently, it is pretty sanitary, and probably more so than the pumice they use on everyone else's feet! No one uses the razor anymore, which ganked your skin up, but at least got down some layers.

I couldn't get a pedicure all last year while I was doing chemo, so my feet are horrible right now. I had a pedicure last month, but nothing seems to work.

If I find someone who does it, I will take a video! I am sure it does tickle!!!

    Take care,
    Krista
I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

    1. Don't feel sorry for those fish. They are depending on your dead skin for food.

    2. I would do it, but I am a guy. That said, I would do it just for the experience.
