Canadians Need To Stop Complaining

So I went to the after hours walk-in clinic today to get a prescription for a puffer and when I got there (20 mins before it opened) there was already a huge line-up, which is to be expected because it's that time of year and the ER in my city is always waaaay busy.
The place finally opens and everyone's going through the routine of signing in and all that jazz and this lady comes in with a kid, looks around, and freaks out.
She wouldn't stop complaining, "God, this is going to be a 2 hour wait just to sign in, then probably another few hours to go see the damn Dr. This is ridiculous. Isn't this why I pay taxes, so that my family can see a damn Dr.? blah blah blah". She kept talking about how her kid is really sick, she shouldn't have to wait this long....etc.
Lady, seriously...the adult:child ratio in there was like 1:10. You're not the only one with a sick kid. If he's THAT bad, go to ER where they have a triage and he will be made a priority if need be. That's why we're here, we know we wouldn't be priority and would be sitting there for 10 hours instead of 2.
Thankfully she left after about an hour.
The whole time she was complaining all I could think about was how lucky we are that we have the opportunity to see a Dr. for free, and only pay about $2 for the meds if that's what you need.
And yes, that is why you pay taxes; and by being there you are taking full advantage of what those taxes offer you. Taxes does NOT equal guaranteed 5 mins. wait or less.
There are places all over the world where your kid would possibly just die instead of having to be inconvenienced for a few hours.
I know with a sick child that's not what would be at the front of your mind, but yelling at the receptionist and making all the other sick people annoyed and angry isn't going to help anything.

But in general, I ONLY complain about people complaining....soo....yeah.

good post. that's the biggest pain in the ass about outpatients...the people sighing and bitching about anything they can think to bitch about. i've seen people get in, sit down and get a spot in less than 20 minutes, yet they spend that whole 20 minutes complaining about how this is taking so long and they MUST have been there before this person or that person...it's 20 minutes!
yeah, when you see one of "those" ones bringing up the taxes...you just look at the person next to you and roll your eyes and laugh.
i'm sure we're all familiar with the "i need two stiches in my thumb, yet why is that guy complaining of chest pains getting in immediatly while i've been waiting here, writhing in pain" ones as well...:D
