So, for my Business Communications class I have to do a project in which I have to 'sell' a product to the class.
The teacher assigned us a general idea of what we had to sell, and I was given music.
For me, music = PJ....so far so good.
BUT...I don't know what to 'sell'. It has to appeal to our 'demographic', the class, but everyone in my class is 18-24 and like things like Twilight novels and Kanye West...not a PJ fan in the bunch.

Help anyone??? I really don't wanna have to research Kanye and the like... :(

Well instead of making the focus a certain band why not sell something like a travel package to go on tour with your favorite artists or a chance to have creative input on their album artwork or next music video. This way you are limiting yourself and you can reach a wider demographic.

Another idea would be music lessons from your favorite artist.

I know this is kinda from school of rock, but what about a website that takes the new bands and show the roots of the influences of their music back where you can click (and buy) songs of influencing bands.

    Kanye West ----> P Diddy
    > etc.

    Kanye's awesome. Research him!

Though you might be better off with Lil Wayne, he seems to be it at the moment.

I suppose if you're really opposed you can go the indie rock route, Kings of Leon or something. But let's face it, if it's all about sales, rock is dead.

So you need to market PJ to a group of people who might not necessarily like PJ...ok...well I was a marketing major in college so let me take a stab...

Can you market a concert? A concert to: "insert cause here"...this is what I'd do if I could do a concert:

    The Concert For Life:

U2 and Pearl Jam with special guests:

    Jack Johnson
    The Killers
    Kanye West
    Justin Timberlake
    Fergie
    Fall out Boy

whomever...just pick a bunch of bands that could lure them into the main acts..U2 is a GIANT so you'll most likely get some people to say they like them and then you'll hook them by having PJ in the title NEXT to U2..fill it with acts that will draw all demographics and you're good!
    Shows:
    9/24/96 MD. 9/28/96 Randalls. 8/28-29/98 Camden. 9/8/98 NJ. 9/18/98 MD. 9/1-2/00 Camden. 9/4/00 MD. 4/28/03 Philly. 7/5-6/03 Camden. 9/30/05 AC.
    10/3/05 Philly. 5/27-28/06 Camden. 6/23/06 Pitt. 6/19-20/08 Camden. 6/24/08 MSG. 8/7/08 EV Newark, NJ. 6/11-12/09 EV Philly, PA. 10/27-28-30-31/09 Philly, PA., 5/15/10 Hartford,5/17/10 Boston, 5/18/10 Newark, 5/20-21/10 MSG
