    thats shitty news. maybe they will make a deal in the off season. we can only hope. remember when they wouldnt sign Ron McLean and the whole country rallied around him. this should be done again.

    Looks like that's the end. CTV (bastards!) bought the rights. Do you think they are tring to work a deal to broadcast NHL hockey? Hmmmm!

    No, they're using it for TSN and RDS' hockey broadcasts (whom they own).
    They were using it for the weather on Canada AM this morning, quite funny.

    And on the other side of the coin - CBC is getting bashed for not retaining the rights but no one is asking what they wanted for those rights ;)

    CTV can call it The Hockey Theme if they want but we all know it will forever be the "Hockey night in Canada" song. CBC is run with tax payers money and would have been raked over the coals if they paid what "private company" CTV payed.

    As CTV spins it, They have saved the song, but thats bullshit they stole 40 years of Saturday nights from the people of canada and they should be ashamed of themselves. They are using for the weather man WTF ! CTV/TSN can lick my bag.
