Camden 03 people were already waiting at 8am for 10am box office opening but first lady in line got 2nd row. then everyone kept cycling through the line so i tried for a few and then 20 mins later guy in front of me got 1st row. Has anyone done this and how early you think the first person in line got there?
hold on to the thread

It works sometimes. Heck, for Mansfied III 03 I lucked out with row U dead center the day before the show. Not front row mind you, but damn good.

2 years ago, I got a seat, first row, on stage left, right next to the artists entrance, for Roger Waters..

Got it 3 hours before the show. I was, of course, alone.

2nd VFC Boston show the box office released all of the seats right next to the side of stage about 2 hours prior to the show starting.

I had the same experience with getting great seats the day before the Mansfield 3 show back in 2003. The day before the show, Ticketmaster dumped about 2-3 rows of tickets about 15-18 rows from the stage.

I expect these types of occurences to continue, especially for the add-on shows.

I know a lot of people that get tickets this way all the time, either online or at the box office- usually good seats

got 2nd row floor dead centre in front of ed on day of the show for adelaide 1.. went to ticketek online just for curiosity at about 9:30AM and there they were.

funnily enough my 10c tix were row 5 for that show... so yeh some mates got an upgrade from 20th row to 5th :)
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.
  • I usually get shit seats that way but have not done it for over 10 years

  • I got front row once. Not floor, but off to the side; Mike's side. I decided to go that very day and showed up at the the venue (the arena in Tampa) with no tickets. I was far from being the first person to show up at the box office that day, too. It ended up working out so beautifully for me, but I would probably never take the risk again.

Not relevant anymore because this was in the non-ticketmaster days.

But back during the 96' tour when they were battling with ticketmaster they put a ton of great seats onsale the day of the show. They announced on the radio that morning that tickets would be available at a local college (Buffalo State College) box office. The line was huge, we were at least 100 in line and still got great seats.

We got lucky and got 20th row side stage. Awesome seats considering the show sold out in less than 15 minutes originally.

happens all the time. sometimes first thing when the box office opens. sometimes three hours later. sometimes 10 minutes after that. sometimes after the opening band starts....

  • It happens a lot like that for sporting events. When I lived in Chicago, that's how I'd always get Cubs tickets...even to sold out games. I think a lot of them are "family" seats that get returned for those events. It was similar for an Indy Colts game I went to a couple years ago. I bought tickets day of game in a supposed sold out stadium because some opposing player had returned them.

Don't know how it works so much for concerts. But Cincy two years ago, I already had tickets about two rows from the top of that place. I checked online that morning and there were seats on the side (Mike's side) about 10 rows up....I stuck with my tickets anyway, but still regret that sometime.

It's hard to plan a trip around getting lucky like that, but if you're close to a venue, it's never a bad idea to keep poking around on Ticketmaster the day of the show.
